Butylparaben, also butyl paraben, one of the parabens, has formula C4H9(C6H4(OH)COO). Butylparaben is the butyl ester of p-hydroxybenzoic acid and is used as an antifungal preservative in cosmetics.

Butylparaben is also a component of many medications in the form of suspension fluid.
